Paintball
is a social game that takes at least two individuals to play. In the safe
zone (which is the safe part of the field where you go when you are shot or just
tired) people divide into teams (2 or more) put on the protective clothing and
masks, fill the markers (guns) with paintballs and take them to the field. And
than the action begins. Paintballs are flying all around in attempt to hit the
opponent, players are runninmg, hiding, crowling, climbing trees, doing
everything they can just to reach the goal - survival. Sometimes this takes 5
minutes, 10 or even 30 minutes which all depends on the skills and the tactics
of the players. After the game is over, when the mission is accomplished or when
all the players of one team are hit, players take a (short) break and then they
do it all over again. And again, and again for max two hours. There is a net
dividing the active part of the field from the safe zone so that the people in
the safe zone are actually safe from the flying paintballs. You can see the
field pictures here.
Paintball
is also a sport but we are interested in recreational paintball. We don't care
about the prizes, we are playing it just for fun and feeling of adrenalin rush.
Everybody can play paintball, except the small children to whom the equipment is
too big - it makes the game unsafe. The old and the young, women and men,
everybody who wants to experience the battle without consequences can come
to FunPoint paintball field to enjoy themselves and to have fun. More about the
game and the rules you can find here.
The
history of paintball
Paintball
was invented in the USA. First markers were made in 1970 to mark the cattle or
trees with paint. Only about 10 years later paintball became a sport. First game
was played in 1981 between 12 players competing in the game Capture the Flag.
The winner captured all flags without even firing a shot! The first outdoor
commercial paintball field started in 1982. Paintball begins in Europe in 1992,
first in France and Denmark and later in other countries. Paintball is played in
almost every european country nowdays, except in Germany where it is forbidden.
